    Fancy Frames Die Cut Download

Here is are a Set of Brand New GSD Fancy Frame Templates available to you for Download.

You will recognise this little Gem from my recent Card over at my other Blog ........... if you haven't seen it yet, the full version of the Card is Here.

I have cut the Frame using 4 of the lines from the Template from the smallest Frame......

Back, 2nd to Back Layer, Dotted Layer (Dash & Gap ~ Can Only be used with GSD File Format - Dash Line is 1mm Dash - 4mm Gap) and the Top Smallest Layer (The 3 Top Layers have been cut together so that they form a window) I then used the holes from my Dash & Gap Line to Stitch .................. the piece embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots is the window centre piece (I didn't want to waste anything or have to cut another layer the size of the window. If you look at the B version on the Template Pic you could also cut the pieces this way.

This is the largest Frame from a Card I created for Sketches!(By Tamara) again if you haven't seen this one either the full version is Here.

This is using only Two Layers as I hand-pricked and Stitched but you can also use the Dash & Gap Line which I have added to the Template. (Dash & Gap ~ Can only be used with the GSD File Format).

This is an Example of what you are getting on the Template.
The Version marked with an A is an Example to show you that the GSD Template will arrive with you with each Frame in Layers on Top of each other ........ By offering the Template to you this way I can offer you more Frame Options which you can amend yourself.

I have coloured each layer with a different Grey so I can describe for you but the actual Template will just have the Cut Lines.

You will need to select which pieces you want to cut and drag and copy them on to the cutting area. (I have kept the Lines as separate Layers so you can cut each one easily. The Layers also have their own descriptions)

The next section is for the in-experienced GSD Software user.

For Example...............You want to cut just the Top Frame.........You want to cut the Layers so you can place them on Top of each other (without making a Frame Window) ............... You want to include Stitch Lines (Dash & Gap).

    1. Open your Craftrobo Software.
    2. Open the GSD Fancy Frame Template.
    3. Remove the Larger Frames so you are just left with the Smallest Frames Pieces.
    4. Move all the Pieces of the Smaller Frame to the edge of the Page so you can drag the Pieces into the Cutting Area.
    5. Start by selecting the smallest (Top Light Grey on Example Pic) Piece and the Dotted Line for this Piece and drag both onto your cutting area.
    6. You will now have the two Frame Pieces and the Dotted Lines which you still need to separate ............ Select the Medium Grey Piece and the Dotted Line for this layer and drag these next to your smaller Light Grey Piece.
    7. You now have the Dark Grey Ribbon Slot Piece and the Dotted Lines which go around the edge of the holes........you just need to drag these to the Cutting area next to your other Pieces and get ready to cut.

If you want to save the File at this point make sure you SAVE AS and give the File a new Title

    Cutting
If you go to your Output Settings within the Robo Master Software and select the Cutline Settings it will show you the Layers as a Colour (On the Template Black is for Cut Lines ~ Red for Dash & Gap Lines) to amend the Red to a Dash & Gap Line click on the Cutline Wording (drop down menu appears and you just have to click on Dash & Gap)

If you are using Illustrator (PDF) to cut with your Silhouette all the Layers are individually labelled so you can choose how to cut from the Plug-in Menu.

The Version marked with a B on the Pic is just to show you an example of how you can cut the Pieces .......... You have a Ribbon Slot Background Piece, a Piece the size of the Window Frame and the Window Frame as the last Piece with the Dash & Gap for Stitching ................ You could also just leave out the Window Frame and cut just the two Pieces with the Dash & Gap on the top Piece to add a little interest.

Hope this is of interest and not too long ....................... I'm hoping to cover any questions at this stage so that when I upload my other Frames I can link back to this Frame Set so all the info is available already.

The price for this lovely Set of Fancy Frames is

    Paypal Payment ~ £2.00

GSD FILE FORMAT ONLY ~ PDF'S Only On Request

    Hi All,

Sorry I don't mean to shout with my Title but unfortunately I've had to do a rethink and Caps was the only way to make it stand out............again I apologise, please don't be offended.

Although I thought I had made it quite clear both at the Side Panel and also at my Greeting Section that if I didn't receive instructions at payment, I would automatically send the GSD File Format........I've Unfortunately had quite a few customers who haven't left me instructions when paying.............This has resulted in them not receiving the File Format they should have actually requested at payment.................Since this has happened a couple of times and I prefer happy Customers, instead of just sending the File, I am now going back to the Customer to ask them to confirm they want a GSD File...............more work for me and the Customer can't get busy cutting.
An SVG File was requested as confirmation this evening which I haven't offered since April................those of you who have read my Posts will know why. I've despatched a PDF with instructions. (Does anyone know a good wig maker??)

So as a result of this....... to make it easier for me....... to make sure I get happy customers .......

I will now only be offering the Templates in the GSD File Format. (Please read on for further info)

I have amended my Side Panel Information and Header to reflect this with the following information.

    GSD FILE FORMAT
    for
    Quickutz Silhouette, Craftrobo & Wishblade.
    .................
If you require a PDF File Format instead of the GSD File Format to convert for your Die Cutting System this can only be requested at Paypal Checkout.
Your instructions must be included in the Buyer to Seller box provided by Paypal.
    .................

If you have purchased from me before you will know that my GSD Templates have been created to use on my Quickutz Silhouette. Some of my Templates will have elements that will only be compatible with the Quickutz Silhouette, Craftrobo and Wishblade as these are all the same machine with different names.

If you have purchased the PDF File Format from me before, I hope you will still find items that interest you and you can convert for use with your own Die Cutting System. I of course welcome any new PDF Customers who are experienced in using the PDF File Format and their Die Cutting System.

Many thanks if you've read all the way through the Post..................I've got some new items coming soon.

Craftmate ~ For Silhouette & Craftrobo!

I don't know about you but I've been searching for Replacement blades and Carrier Sheets and in my search I came across this wonderful little Website...................................Of course I had to share it with you....................I've added a Link to the Pic.

I bought a fab new Blade Holder which has easily replaceable blades and you don't need the coloured caps (I'm keeping this for my Card Cut Outs (so I won't need to keep changing the blade) and I can use my original blade for lighter card and paper.

Still waiting for the Single Carrier Sheets to come in but I might just have to buy the two pack lol!

There is also a Fab Embossing Tool and Mat.............................looks Fab and I think I will have to invest in the future..........................just think, if you can arrange it so you Print, Emboss and Die Cut (of course you'd have to put in registration marks).

It's a UK site but they might post/ship further afield.
Just thought you might find it interesting.

    Thanks for looking.

SCAL.........The Saga Continues! ~ A Little More Research!

Information for the Cricut & Cricut Expression User

You may find this interesting if
    • You have Cricut or the Cricut Expression...................want to cut your own Die Cuts and not be restricted just to the Cartridges available.

    • You are thinking of Purchasing SCAL.

    • You are a Novice SCAL user.

    • You are an Experienced SCAL user but haven't come across this issue yet.

Please note this is only what I've discovered in the last week and I just thought you might find it useful.

    And also..............

Well, hopefully with this final piece of the puzzle, this can be put to bed lol!

SCAL (Sure Cuts ALot) for those who haven't come across it is Software for your Cricut & Cricut Expression that allows you to cut which ever Font you have available on your computer..............it will also only cut SVG outline designs that you have created yourself or purchased...................you will find the Link to it in one of my previous Cricut Posts.

With Silhouette/Craftrobo Software you are able to cut Dash & Gap Cut Lines...............they can be single lines (Which have two ends) and you can cut these in any way you wish..............Dash & Gap................Dot & Gap................the length of the cut Dash can be determined by you.

This Function is not available with SCAL

For this reason in my previous Post, 'Betsy's' Nose was cut through the centre due to the curved line feature above the nose being a single line..............hope this makes sense.

Just to recap..................with the SCAL Software:

    • You can only cut in a Continuous Joined Outline....................there can be no breaks in that line as SCAL will compensate for this and join the sections together to complete the broken lines.

So, if you purchase a PDF File Format from me and it has Dash & Gap lines, please be aware at the moment, when you convert the File to an SVG File, SCAL will not be able to cut these details as they were intended and you will need to remove them from the SVG File you want to cut with.

I hope this is all clear.....................and I hope you find this is helpful.

    Thanks for looking

SVG FILE FORMAT ~ Unfortunately I can no longer offer this File Format

As you are aware if you read my other post Cricut & Cricut Expression Users you will be aware that a lady bought a number of SVG Files from me.....................I have since heard from her and she is happy and has had no problems.

Yesterday another lady bought one of the same Files (Betsy) from me but for some reason it was not showing in her SCAL Software.

In order to see if I could help (I don't let the computer beat me lol) I downloaded the Trial Version of SCAL (I was getting the same problem) after spending all day and half the night trying to sort it out I eventually tried to save the File in a more complicated way then a straight save and managed at last to open this File within SCAL...............I believe AOL are involved somewhere and have altered something again which is effecting the straight save of the SVG File Format (The original Files open in Internet Explorer but not in AOL)

Please note...................I have no use for SCAL...............It seems very complicated (I don't consider myself a Computer novice) and I have no wish know more..........only so far as knowing the SVG Files open within it....................Sorry to those users who love it but it's not for me.

If anyone can help in how to cut Dashed Lines I would be grateful as the Features Layer..........Betsy Inner Ear, Inner Feet, Nose and the line over her Nose are all Dashed Lines and are appearing as Straight Cut Lines (As they do before you alter them in the Software for the Silhouette/Craftrobo)

The Dashed Line over her Nose is appearing as a lemon Slice as both ends are joining up (Can anyone solve this so it cuts as just a Line).................as I am not familiar with SCAL (with only one day experience) I do understand however following instructions from the Cutting Cafe that you have to save items in separate SVG Files and then Import all in to SCAL and drag them over one another......................I would be grateful if anyone could tell me so I can pass this on to the lady who purchased yesterday.

So, the lady who purchased 'Betsy' yesterday has her File and it functions in SCAL......with only two days experience with SCAL, she needs to know how to cut the Dash Lines and why she is getting the Lemon Slice problem..............................I hope anyone can help so I can pass this info on to her.

which leads me back to a section in my former Post:

Please also note, you must make sure that you are familiar and completely comfortable with this software and know what you are doing prior to purchasing any Digital File Formats as I cannot be responsible if the Files won't open on your machine!........................may I just add.............or how they open.

    so I'm sorry but the

SVG FILE FORMAT ~ NO LONGER AVAILABLE

if you wish to purchase the PDF FILE FORMAT to convert into SVG FILES yourself, please do so..............but please make sure you know what you are doing.............................sorry I didn't mean to shout it at you.............I just want to make sure it's seen lol!

I would like to thank The Cutting Cafe, without their Tips Section I would have been lost.

Thanks for looking and I hope you are not too disappointed if you use SVG Files.

p.s. Thanks for bearing with me if you read the whole Post.............I know it's a long one.
